Grappling with my own emotions while also trying to capture the essence of another’s is a really important way of creating harmony within myself. The comfort of each person is visible in every photograph, something that ties my art together. Every piece is a self-reflection at some point; any emotion captured is one accounted for, however, I have yet to find the photograph that truly represents me perfectly. It may not be just one picture but a set of them, a series if you will. Each one represents more than happiness, but everything that lies underneath: the struggle, pain, anger, and chaos. All while choreographing eyes dancing across various plateaus of light.
My outward appearance may be a façade as I try to dig deeper into discovering who I am constantly aware of how others perceive me. Just like how others may put on a ‘show’ in front of the camera and let me see what they think I want to see, I too use my eyes as a lens to carefully let others around me see what they want.
